Starring in the West Hollywood Book Fair

The organization, founded by writers-producers Robin Rowe and Gabrielle Pantera is home to more than 1,900 screenwriters, actors, and filmmakers.

Who Showed A Fledgling Broadcaster The Secret Of Being A Mogul?
The Answer Is Merv Griffin
I was a freshly-minted college student when I met Merv. As the host of a series of radio programs at KFMB AM and FM in San Diego I interviewed a number of celebrities.
Merv really fascinated me for many reasons. There was the show business aspect. Singer to talk show host to broadcasting and real estate uber mogul. I read about all of it as a prepared for our interview.
With facts and Betsey Johnson dress in place I was off to the studio for a morning interview.
I was just one of many reporters on the list. Why do I know? Because his staff sent me a copy of his schedule.
He could not have been more gracious.
We were set to meet again that night at a reception. After meeting with dozens of people he approached me with a smile and a greeting, "Hi Nozizwe."
To this day I still have that Betsey Johnson dress and I have an enduring admiration for Merv, his business and how it took care of it.

Starring in Your Own-Cartoon
Maybe the box office success--more than 71 million bucks for the weekend-- means that they just don't care. It's been almost impossible to become Simpsonized--that is upload your photo and make yourself over along the lines of Bart or Marge. Star Father-The NBA's Derek Fisher
While watching an interview with NBA star Derek Fisher this morning I smiled, I got teary and I glowed.
Glowed when I heard that Fisher missed a playoff game and left behind almost $21 million dollars from the Utah Jazz so that he could be as close as possible to the best doctors to take care of his daughter.
He did land another contact, this one with the Lakers in Los Angeles for $14 million dollars. For him the pay cut is worth it.
Derek said simply, “I think at this point in my career, and in my life, really, not just as a basketball player but as a man, more than anything — learning how to be a husband and learning how to be a father —those are the sacrifices you make for your family, and you just work it out.”
A man after my heart.
Now that's a star!
Smiled when I saw his infant daughter's infectious grin.

My dear Uncle Malume made me a map and gave me red push pins so I could mark all the spots I visited. I was all of 15 at the time. The map pushed me to go further on a life long journey that's taken me to 45 states and dozens of countries.
